Nursing Consultant, Program Review – Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program $130,512 - $163,392 annual salary range Do you have a keen professional interest in addiction medicine and substance use treatment? California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is seeking nurse leaders experienced in the implementation and oversight of complex clinical programs to join our Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program. This newly-created statewide program is designed to provide integrated, specialized care to patients with a history of substance use who require additional medical assistance. In this key position, you will: - Support the development and statewide deployment of the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program as well as other clinical initiatives, including the Whole Person Care Program, Complete Care Model, and Hepatitis C Treatment programs
- Provide program consultation for nursing practices, procedures, and standards
- Evaluate the effectiveness of complex nursing practices
- Serve as a subject matter expert to nursing services staff and other disciplines
- Develop statewide quality management and compliance monitoring processes for care management and care coordination; and disseminate institutional training of these processes and practices
- Complete comprehensive executive level reports of health care provided in the institutions, detailing and presenting findings both verbally and in writing to committees and/or Executive Leadership
- Travel to assigned institutions and perform onsite health care program monitoring and assessments
To thrive in this position, you must possess: - Current CA RN license
- Three years of experience in nursing/psychiatric nursing. This experience must include direct care of developmentally disabled, psychiatric, and/or adult inmate or youthful offender patients.
Additionally, you must also qualify along one of these paths: Path 1 - Two years’ administrative experience comparable to an assistant coordinator of nursing services at a large facility for the developmentally disabled; hospital for the developmentally or mentally disabled; and/or acute/subacute care correctional facility.
- One year experience as a nursing consultant or as a director of nursing education/psychiatric nursing in an accredited state mental hospital/developmental center or nurse training program with responsibility for instruction of students at various nursing practice levels.
Path 2 - Three years of experience as a nursing consultant with BSN from an accredited school of nursing; and MSN, preferably in nursing administration.
- One year of additional experience in an administrative or consultative capacity may be substituted for the MSN.
