Job Summary

Life After Hate’s ExitUSA Program Director leads the development, implementation and strategic growth of programming to adults seeking ExitUSA intervention and aftercare services. The Program Director leads the program and all its components, including supervision and evaluation of ExitUSA staff, contractors, and volunteers. Develops and evaluates program policies ensuring they meet client needs, are effectively administered, and fairly applied. Oversees ExitUSA program data and reporting as well as record keeping. Ensures program standards and guidelines are adhered to, and staff performance meets expectations. Provides significant contributions to program partnership development, strategic planning, and executive level decision making. Assists in preparing, administering, and monitoring program budgets. Position reports to the Executive Director.


Duties  & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quality and success of all aspects of program operations, case management, external relationships, and program development
  • Supervise, train, and motivate a team of full-time and part-time staff, contractors, and volunteers
  • Develop strategic program expansion goals and budgets
  • Create program measurement tools, oversee data collection, and evaluate outputs and outcomes
  • Monitor program budgets and oversee grant and contract compliance/expectations.
  • Monitor and report weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress toward established program goals to inform program strategies, grant reporting, and other internal and external reporting
  • Represent the organization at conferences and other public events and training
  • Maintain and cultivate funded and other program partnerships
  • Work collaboratively with Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer on fundraising strategies, proposals, and events
  • Build and maintain working relationships with Board of Directors committees
  • Attend and plan professional development trainings, seminars, and events
  • Other duties as assigned


Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Must have a master’s degree of social work, preferred Licensed Social Worker
  • 5+ years professional working experience in nonprofit leadership and case management
  • Experience enforcing National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics
  • Experience working with high-risk groups
  • Significant experience in nonprofit program development and project management
  • Ability to work well with partners in various civic and governmental organizations
  • Cultural competency and civic minded while serving individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Work in a team and virtual environment with minimal supervision
  • Experience in meeting facilitation, staffing, and community relations
  • Ability to work independently, be flexible, and manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Proficient computer skills, especially using Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills
  • Experience leading public presentations, training, and speaking engagements
  • Case management and record keeping in social services experience a must

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Must be flexible working in a fast-paced, non-profit environment. Experience in direct service and supervision. This position works primarily virtually, with travel expected occasionally.
