Saint Martin’s University, a private Catholic, Benedictine university located in western Washington, invites applications for the position of faculty member and Field Education Director of the BSW program. The position is an entry-level tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor to begin August 2017. Duties include teaching core and elective courses in the newly accredited BSW Program, directing field education, advising, performing institutional service, and maintaining an active scholarly agenda. Departmental faculty are expected to regularly teach in the First Year Seminar program.
The ideal candidate must have a master’s degree in social work and either a DSW or PhD in social work from a CSWE-accredited institution with at least two years’ of full-time social work practice. Expertise in at least two of the following areas is preferred: child welfare, gerontology, community organization, social policy, chemical dependency, and field education supervision. Faculty are expected to support the Catholic, Benedictine liberal arts mission of the university. The position is subject to final budgetary approval.
