The primary responsibility of the Licensed Mental Health Practitioner is to provide short term counseling and facilitate referrals to appropriate community agencies when necessary. The Licensed Mental Health Practitioner is responsible for implementation of group counseling based on identified student needs and to design and implement educational programs relevant to student needs through collaboration with other offices as required. The Mental Health Practitioner will also provide academic coaching as well as educational and career counseling when necessary.

Current New York State licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Psychologist and a minimum of 1-3 years’ professional experience are required. Applicants must have demonstrated leadership and program coordination skills along with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Ph.D. or Psy.D. credentials and experience working in a higher education setting are preferred.
