Job Description
The San Francisco State University Head Start/Early Head Start program has an immediate opening for a Family and Community Partnerships Manager. Come join a friendly, warm, nurturing and caring community of early childhood educators providing a culturally-relevant curriculum and creating a developmentally-appropriate classroom for children ages 0-5 years as well as providing social work services to their families.

This position requires an MSW and the knowledge, experience and skills of a qualified individual to work with Head Start parents, staff and communities to develop and implement a family and community partnership program that meets all the Head Start Performance Standards. The individual employed in this position will work with program staff to develop systems and strategies to offer Head Start parents opportunities and support for growth so they can identify their own strengths, needs and interests, and find their own solutions. The Family and Community Partnerships Manager facilitates and supports active parent involvement and effective community collaborations between Head Start staff, parents and citywide agencies that enhance comprehensive services for Head Start children and families, and share the responsibility for the healthy development of children and families from all cultures.

In addition, the FCP Manager may supervise social work interns from SF State University.

Requirements
Master’s Degree in Social Work with a focus on individuals, families, groups, communities and social development. A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience working with staff from diverse ethnic and cultural groups, professionals and paraprofessionals, volunteers; and community groups from low-income, diverse ethnic and cultural populations, immigrant families, homeless and transient families, and families with exceptional children. Experience in training staff and parent groups with various educational levels. Strong group facilitation, planning, and verbal and written communication skills.
